Storage guide

Peptide storage starts with the exact material

Protect peptide research materials from the conditions that most often reduce stability: moisture, light, heat, contamination, and repeated temperature changes. The product label or supplied specification takes priority over this general guide.

Handling sequence

Protect the material at each state

The label or supplied specification takes priority. These controls cover the common risks before opening, during handling, and after reconstitution.

  1. Before opening

Keep the container sealed, dry, protected from direct light, and within the stated storage range. Log receipt and storage conditions when traceability matters.

  2. During handling

Minimize time outside controlled storage. Use clean tools, avoid introducing moisture, and do not transfer material into an unlabelled container.

  3. After reconstitution

Stability depends on the compound, solvent, concentration, container, and protocol. There is no universal post-reconstitution shelf life; use a validated procedure for the exact material.

Avoidable loss

Limit repeated stress

  • Plan aliquots before opening when repeated access is expected.
  • Avoid unnecessary freeze-thaw or warm-cool cycles.
  • Keep labels readable and preserve lot or internal sample references.
  • Quarantine material if the seal, appearance, or storage history is uncertain.
  • Do not infer sterility or suitability from appearance alone.

Important boundary

General guidance is not a product specification

Storage conditions and shelf life can differ by compound and presentation. Do not apply a temperature or expiry from another peptide to the product in front of you.

Ask support before purchase when your protocol requires a particular storage range, transport condition, or documented shelf life.

For dispatch timing, customs allocation, and the buyer's responsibility when a parcel crosses a border, read shipping and customs. Move the material into the required storage condition promptly after receipt.
